Distress signals

It is very well known the meaning of S.O.S., Save Our Souls/Ship, ". . . - - - . . ." , in Morse code.
Actually it is not an acronym for anything, it is just an agreed signal (easy to type in Morse code) when asking for urgent help.

Probably less known is the meaning of "Mayday", used as distress signal as well.
This comes from the French word m'aidez - meaning "help me" - and its pronounciation is similar to "mayday". You may want to learn about how to make a Mayday call.

Do not confuse with May Day ! ;-) Also known as Labour Day...
...oh well, maybe nowadays workers need urgent help, indeed...
